Response for Night, Mother.

This play Written by Marsha Norman apply named Night, Mother is a very odd play that was honestly kind of messed to to me but honestly understandable with peoples problems and situations. It starts off with the main character Jessie a woman who's life has been extremely bad to her. A loveless marriage that ended with divorce, her son is a thief and a fool and a large amount of personal problems that make her life seem almost worthless. Jesse tells her mother how in the most simple way she wants to end her life her mother doesn't believe her but Jesse starts to clean things up in their house and makes everything ready for her eventual demise. Her mother is of course heart broken that her daughter has completely accepted her fate. Her mother asks her to spent the night and help her. In the end her mother is left deeply hurt with the pain of knowing her daughter is gonna to end her own life. Jessie then leaves to her room and closes the door all that is left is the sound of a gunshot and the assumption that Jessie her life.
This image is from one of many different plays of Night, Mother in the image you can see Jesse coldly standing there while her mothe pleds to her not to end her life.

Reading Response for Suddenly, Last Summer.

This is My Reading Response on Suddenly, Last Summer this play was written by Tennessee Williams. This Play is a very interesting read and grips you with its tale of a woman by the name of Catherine Holly who is a part is a wealthy New Orleans family. Who believe she has gone insane after the death of her cousin Sebastian in Europe under mysterious circumstances. Sebastian's mother Violet Venable doesn't buy it and believes the worse. Violet also does not believe that her son was homosexual and the story of her sons death and threats Catherine Holly with Lobotomy.
To me this was kinda extreme but a mothers feelings to her son is understandable but its kinda crazy to go that far. After that they give Catherine a "Truth Serum" which sounds kinda off to me but its something that i assume was believed in back then. Catherine then start retelling the entire tale of what happened to her cousin while aboard. Sebastian using her looks to attract men and his fate being killed and being eaten by cannibals while seeking sexual favors from the people there. In which the horrified family memebers look on while Catherine just weeps and Violet just stares on.
this still image is of the 1959 version of the play with Elizabeth taylor playing Catherine Holly under the effects of the "truth serum". In the film they have a sequence where they have a flash back to show what had happened to Sebastian. During the sequence she explains everything while the flash back goes on and it become very strange with effects showing a angel of death or skeletons. while Catherine herself doesn't see it, it shows the effects of how death just follows and become very real that death is comming for Sebastian while he was running away from the locals chasing his him intruments.
